MAIN FUNCTIONS

Office of the Executive Secretary

  • Develop and recommend for Council’s approval the long term road safety strategy and vision,
  • Develop and recommend for approval management plans and budgets that support the long term strategy,
  • Ensure the achievement of both financial and operational goals,
  • Ensure effectiveness of the Secretariat through the creation of a conducive work climate and ethics, 
  • Formulate and oversee implementation of policies,
  • Serve as the chief spokesperson of the NRSC,
  • Provision of secretarial duties to the NRSC and Management Committee.

Administrative Support

  • Financial, personnel and asset management,
  • Procurement,
  • Contract management,
  • Execution of NRSC resolutions,
  • Distribution of promotional/marketable materials,
  • Organisation of workshops

Research

  • Implementation of Road Safety research,
  • Collection and analysis of accident statistics,
  • Monitoring and evaluation of road safety initiatives,
  • Co-ordination of road safety audits,
  • Development and production of road safety documents and publications,
  • Management of resource centre.

Communication

  • Develop and implement road safety awareness and educational programmes,
  • Develop and produce road safety educational material,
  • Management of scholar patrol programme,
  • Community mobilisation,
  • Co-ordination of Road Safety activities,
  • Provision of training (where necessary),
  • Carry out road safety publicity activities.
